A City In Exile- About What was to come
The Artist’s (dis)Placement in the Republic
The Trap of Categorization—A Skeptic’s Critique
One issue with Cogito is its need to define an event or an entity (input) ‘by categorization’ for a convenience of a future (outcome) which it finds favorable to its subject. In that, the lure of language is lost, as it stands defeated. There is no favorable outcome, except in speculative thinking, an imagination- A replica (word: Image. To think is to imagine). World is solved, yet people stand as unknowable as they indeed seem to be; was there no impression. Image of the reality is not hard to understand, and respond positively to. Reality, however doesn’t require an imagination, based on memory and speculation. Now- is a Sirloin-steak made out of a body- left to consume; to dine-on for maggotary needs of the world. Peel the body against time? what a farce -memory. A good question Socrates asks, “why not banish the artist from the Republic?” What artistry Socrates! Cutting off the branch you’re sitting on. Then you are next to take a fall motherfucker. Follow your citizens to the exile you asked themfore. With God, they imagined a devil. And with that- A Self which also imagines a nothingness. No one invented the body though. It was given- ask your mum. It eats; not for the soul- but only for itself. Soul eats for pride. For such food, it could humiliate, then starve its bearer to a premature death. To live with such body and pride! To put one into the other- But in what sequence? Why not just eat? As the old master rightly asks.
A World of Flesh and Hunger—Body Before Soul
Only an artist would not eat in the ways of the world, the ways of Socrates had imagined for Republic. Ready-to-hand*(Heidegger), or hand-to-mouth. I look ‘around’ myself, then into my delusions. Which world is real? The one I first see, then know? Would that not be the world, I imagined? A world in which I write about “ready-to-hands’- returning home from late-night amazon shift? A world better connected to their bodies, for the body must be fed. Socrates dreamt of Techno-feudalism- a world of Jeff Bezzo’s. A world well connected to the food. Only those will live who feed themselves religiously, for there is only one true religion. Those who follow, will have better chances to breed, take rests and return to means to food. Of these, who still flirt with pride, there will be some- but at a price. There will be institutes of skills- the real knowledge. A knowledge of food. A home, comfort and content are matters of pride, which could be accommodated. It must come from- what body leaves out. But furniture is expensive. Pride; is the furniture. Aesthetic is vanity. And with Socrates, I will argue with this confession.
